I recently ordered a few of these and decided to order more in the same colours because I really liked them. The new one, purchased within a month or so of the other ones feels more ribbed and scratchy, not soft like the others. Will be returning it unfortunately.
This top is completely see through. It is not the same material as similar shirts last year. In addition to this, it's way too long. I am 5'9 and have a long torso. This hits me mid-bum. I originally ordered the regular XS and exchanged it for a petite XS (I've never worn anything petite in my life ...- I'd anything, I order tall) thinking that might help with the length. There is no difference in the length between the petite and regular. The only small difference I noticed was the underarm are a teeny bit tighter. But really, the length is ridiculous. I don't want a crop top, I want a normal top that hits between the waist and hips. This bunches up around the waist if untucked and even if tucked in, there is way too much fabric. Too bad as it's very soft and I loved the same top last year.

gap.com/I agree either way the other one star reviews! I wear the Tall Modern Tee as my "uniform" shirt and order probably 14 a year. Please, please, please!!!! Fix what's going on . Two to three inches too short in the body (it's not TALL) and material quality is going down drastically! The neckline and arm length also randomly funky.

gap.com/Finally a v-neck that cuts low enough to be elevated but not show a bra underneath! I am a 34 DDD/F with slightly wider shoulders, smaller waist but with wide hips. I typically don't wear fitted shirts because they end up with a loose budge in the middle due to my wider shoulders and hips. However, the fit of this shirt and many others from GAP do a perfect job of hugging to my shape while also being thick enough to staying smooth. I liked this first one so much, I also purchased the sleeveless version and a few other cuts from GAP since. Ill be keeping an eye on GAP for future staples :) I wear this top with jeans, shorts, as a layer in a business casual outfit, etc. the shape and material is very versatile and easy to style. For reference, I'm 35, hourglass body shape, with a slightly athletic build.

The black version of this shirt is the perfect basic, with a great weight and stretchiness. I had to return the white one because it felt completely different, much thinner weight and less forgiving (and see through).

gap.com/I hope that Gap decides to revert back to the thicker, nicer cotton stretch modern fit in years past, because I have bought them for years, despite having very limited color offerings of gray, navy, and black. I tried these on, and they are much tighter and lighter with a small ribbed effect. They were so silly on me, I sent them back the next day. I have loved the modern fit, but 2025 brought the oddly longer short-sleeves, and 2026 this oddity. Do what you want, but don't market it as modern fit if yore.

The fit is great but the stitching on the sleeve unravelled after the first wear so the quality just isn't there. Esp at that cost.
