Simply a basic item that was on hand/in stock in the store when I needed it. I was walking through the mall and the socks I was wearing with my Doc Martens were not cutting it. I need a simple pair of socks with some cotton content and Gap was the easiest store to walk into, pluck them of the wall display, purchase, and immediately put on a pair.

These socks always get holes same day when my son wears them.

I've been buying gap socks for many years for the whole family and now the sizing and quality is way off. I got hubby sz8-12 crew, he's tall and thin and could barely get them on. Are they women's 8-12? What does 8-12 in men's socks mean? He can't get them on and I'm women's 10 I can't get them on either. Off to a different store for socks oh well.

Stretchy and long but good quality

These socks are insanely tight at the ankle and up. My fingers couldn't even pull them up. May be they are compression socks!

It's not the same quality as before. It's two times thinner and feels like more plastic was used to create it.
