Heavy and uncomfortable dress

So disappointed with this dress. It's extremely heavy. I cannot imagine it being worn in the summer or any season. It would be perfect if it was in the same fabric as the GAP midi ribbed tshirt dress which is what I assumed it was when I ordered it.
