I own multiple colours of this shirt that I have bought over the past few years. They're definitely a closet staple for me. I just bought the pink and red stripe one though, and this new one is somewhat different from my old ones. The fabric feels a little heavier, the shape of the hem is different,... the collar is bigger, the cuffs are considerably longer, and overall the shirt fits even bigger than it used to. I ordered my usual size and decided to just keep it (mostly cause I wanted to wear it right away and not go through the trouble of exchanging it) but in hindsight I really wish I had sized down. If they hadn't made this new batch even bigger than past Big Shirts, I would have given it 5 stars.
Bought this shirt last year in black and white and I wear them all the time, they are closet staples for me. I would give this item 5 stars for last year's version. I typically wear M Petite (L Petite for some styles that are more fitted or have little stretch) but S Petite in this shirt is still pe...rfectly oversized for me, so definitely size down. I'm around 5'1 and 140 lbs. I'm only giving this item 3 stars because this years striped styles have a different fit than last year and are unflattering on me. I was a bit disappointed when I received the blue and white stripe version and have it fit much differently on me - the cuffs are longer so folding the sleeves up doesn't look as nice, the collar is larger and sits higher than before so it looks more like a men's dress shirt as it looks like there's enough space to fit a tie under the collar, and the hem of the shirt is longer than before, which is particularly unflattering on my petite height. The overall fit makes the collar area more like a men's dress shirt as less of a shirt that can be styled down. Long review but tldr; new striped styles do not fit the same as previous years' black and white variants! Please bring back the old fit!

I've been buying the big shirt since they came out, I really like them. But there are a few that have a different collar and sleeve, and I don't like those. I can't pop the collar the same, or roll the sleeve up how I like to. The blue and white stripe shirt shows the old style of sleeve and collar, but when I received it it's not. So a return.

This shirt was balled up and thrown in a bag with a chocolate cashmere sweater. Even after I washed it, it's still covered in fuzz. I'm going to have to take it to my dry cleaner before I can even wear it. Very disappointed.

gap.com/I absolutely loved the material. thin, cool. However it runs really big. I'm usually a medium. sometimes a petite large. I have big shoulders, and a fairly large chest 36-38DD. And I ordered this, tan one in a size small and it was very large on me. Not in a cute way neither. I looked 50 pounds heavier LOL. Im returning to repurchase the same thing 2 sizes smaller. Just hoping the arm length won't change with it bc that was perfect.

Other reviewers say it's too big but I disagree. If you are looking for an actual oversized shirt it is exactly right. The fabric is also a nice crisp cotton. It is perfect. Zac Posen's influence on The Gap has brought it back from the dead. Thank you Zac!!
