Thanks for finally bringing back the shorter sleeves. Would be great if you could also bring back the original cotton fabric. The version feels cheap compared to versions purchased a few years ago.

Sleeves too short

Have always loved the short sleeve modern tee. Have purchased 100's over the years. This years version has sleeves that are more like capped sleeves. They would flatter someone with great arms but I am older and it just doesn't look good. Last the two or three years version was great and even be...

Must Have Tee

This is my second review, as I have ordered these three times in the past weeks. Now that I've had more time to compare these to the "old" modern tees I still have in the closet, I would like to say I'm so pleased with these shirts. The fabric content is the same in both the old and new shirts, 58% cotton, 39% modal, and 3% elastane. I buy these shirts because they offer a tall size and I need that. It is long and fitted but not too fitted. These are just overall a great shirts in fabric and fit and I'm happy that they are back in the shorter sleeve length.

Simply the best!

I have several of these tee shirts. They are amazingly soft and the quality is unmatched.

I don't understand how they determine the sleeve length on the tee shirts, as these sleeves are too short (fits weird under the armpits), but the sleeves on the other modern tee are too long. How about something in between?? I've bought these modern tees for years and love them otherwise, but the original cut was the best.

The best layering shirt!

Decent quality if on 40-60% sale, but not what it used to be

I've been wearing a variation of the Modern t-shirt since the 90s…it wasn't even called modern at that point. Im the last couple years, the cut and quality of fabric has changed. The fabric while initially soft and visually appealing, pills much more quickly with just normal wear and it is overall, thinner. While the fabric composition has been the same for several years, there is a quality difference in those fibers. If you are GenZ or a young millennial, you may not realize this and think this stuff is great, but for anyone older, it's a bit of a bummer. The reality is, everything has gone down in quality, and one has to find a balance between affordable price and quality expectations. But, I'm not quite sure if Gap is really that much better than Old Navy is certain things. Today's Gap is probably close to ON quality from 5-10 years ago. My daughter has a pair of jeans from Gap that are less than 2-3 year old and already has holes where the pockets were sewn to the backside. And, these where not lightweight cotton. So, buy the shirts, they certainly aren't trash. But buy them on sale, wash on cold, dry lightly on low, and then hang to dry. And be prepared to deal with pilling!

OK but not nearly the same fabric qualilty as previous versions. Each year they seem to become lower quality. I would pay a bit more for a better quality. Having said that, all past versions do pill after awhile and I always wash in cold water on gentle and hang to dry.
